How to compare HVAC quotes in Fresno without missing the scope that matters

- Place every included item and every exclusion side by side before comparing totals.
- Keep each proposal, warranty statement, and permit or inspection explanation together so the comparison is based on documents—not memory.
What to understand before you decide
Compare scope before you compare price
A system proposal may include equipment removal, refrigerant-line work, duct modification, electrical work, permits, disposal, start-up, commissioning, warranty registration, or none of these. A useful quote makes the included scope and exclusions clear. If something is unclear, ask for it in writing.
Make sure the system fits the home
Equipment capacity and efficiency should be connected to the home, not simply selected from a price list. Ask what information supports the recommendation and whether ducts, airflow, and electrical capacity affect the final design.
Treat incentives and financing as separate decisions
A promotion, utility program, tax credit, or financing offer may have eligibility, timing, product, credit, or installation requirements. Ask for current program terms and do not treat a marketing reference as approval for your particular home.
Questions to ask before you decide
- What exact equipment is proposed, and why is that capacity and efficiency appropriate for this home?
- Which duct, electrical, permit, disposal, and start-up items are included—and which are excluded?
- Who is responsible for permit and inspection coordination if required?
- What labor and manufacturer warranty terms apply, and how is warranty registration handled?
- What will the final walkthrough and commissioning process include?
